This is Jim Whitelaw.  After a life in various industries, most focussed around the sea and oceans, Jim toyed with the idea of retiring after deciding to quit the oil and gas industry.  Unfortunately, retirement did not suit Jim, and so he incorporated Swackie Ltd in December 2020.

This was a stopgap though and Jim needed real work.  The real work began with one van delivering parcels and has now grown to a fleet of eight modern long wheeled base vehicles, delivering parcels for major delivery companies throughout the north-east of Scotland.

Our vehicles cover a lot of miles six days every week and need regular care and attention, oil changes, new tyres, brakes and many other parts which wear on a regular basis.  It was a natural progression for us to employ our own mechanic and begin to carry out our own repairs.

The next step for Swackie was to source our own vehicles and sell our surplus requirements and Swackie Autos Ltd was incorporated in 2025 to fulfil this role.  The process of setting up our own workshop and sales office is still ongoing and every attention is being given to getting it right first time so that we are able to offer a comprehensive service to individuals and small business owners alike.

Our workshop can handle any type of vehicle up to long wheel base panel vans and offers very reasonable rates for brakes, tyres and small jobs on most vehicles.  At this point, we do not wish to take on major repairs for any vehicles other than our own fleet until we are better established.
